Description
Job Responsibilities
- Prepares and codes operations, tooling identification, indexing sequences, speeds, and feeds.
- Develops efficient tool paths for various machining operations.
- Creates, modifies, and optimizes manufacturing programs using CAM software to manufacture parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Verifies programs are correct and efficient, with the help of machine operators.
- Prepares instruction sheets.
- Trains machine operators and more junior programmers on programs.
- Organizes and maintains detailed records.
- Modifies and adjusts programs and instructions to incorporate engineering changes as required.
- Analyzes and resolves programming issues that arise during the machining process to ensure product quality.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Skills Requirements
- Solid understanding of machining processes, materials, and tooling.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and models.
- Knowledge of CNC machine operations, including setup and troubleshooting.
- Solid problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Educational Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
Experience Requirements
- Five years of experience in machine programing.
