Job Responsibilities
- Reads and interprets basic blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to plan welding operations.
- Performs basic welding equipment setup to produce fabricated components.
- Prepares materials for welding by cleaning surfaces and fitting components.
- Inspects completed welds visually and using testing methods to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Assists in troubleshooting and repairing welds.
- Maintains welding equipment and tools in good working condition.
- Follows all safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- May operate machinery including welding robots, saws, and grinders.
Job Skills Requirements
- Basic understanding of welding processes and techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
- General knowledge of welding codes, standards, and safety practices.
- Attention to detail and commitment to learning quality workmanship.
- Physical stamina to work in various positions for extended periods.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Physical & Environmental Requirements??
- Some physical demand; often lifts light to heavy-weight material. Frequent lifting/moving average weight (up to 50 lbs/11-27 kgs) material.?
- Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours).?
- Ability to operate motorized vehicles over a full work shift (8-12 hours).?
- Ability to stand and / or walk constantly over a full work shift on concrete (8-12 hours).?
- May be exposed to noise levels for which hearing protection is required to be worn over a full work shift (8-12 hours).?
