About the Role

PRL Industries is seeking a Grinder to join its manufacturing operations in Lebanon, PA. PRL produces precision components supporting critical manufacturing and defense-related applications.

This is a hands-on industrial position responsible for grinding and finishing castings, forgings, and weldments using handheld power grinders. You'll work from established procedures, specifications, sketches, and blueprints to remove excess metal and prepare parts to meet required finish and quality standards.

This role is a strong fit for someone with experience in grinding, welding, machining, metal fabrication, or other hands-on industrial work.

What You'll Do

  • Grind and finish castings, forgings, and weldments using handheld power grinders.
  • Operate grinders ranging from approximately 3 to 16 pounds.
  • Remove metal using a variety of abrasive wheels and grinding techniques.
  • Reposition and handle castings or parts as needed to complete grinding work.
  • Grind components in a variety of positions, including internal and external surfaces.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions, sketches, blueprints, and established specifications.
  • Verify documentation and part information for accuracy.
  • Record required production information according to established procedures.
  • Serialize parts using vibro-tools or steel stamps.
  • Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, hand trucks, scales, and banding equipment as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.

Must-Have Skills and Experience

  • Ability to safely use handheld power tools and grinders.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written work instructions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical work.
  • Physical dexterity to grind components from multiple positions and angles.
  • Ability to occasionally lift more than 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work safely in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to wear a respirator when required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice-to-Have Skills

(These are preferred but not required.)

  • Previous grinding experience.
  • Experience in an industrial, mechanical, welding, machining, metal fabrication, or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with castings, forgings, or weldments.
  • Experience reading basic sketches or blueprints.
  • Experience operating forklifts or overhead cranes.

Additional Details

  • Schedule: 2nd Shift, Monday-Thursday, 3:00 PM–1:00 AM
  • Overtime: Available on Fridays
  • Pay Range: $24-$28/hour, based on experience + $3/hour Shift Differential
  • Work Environment: Industrial shop environment with exposure to dust, fumes, metal debris, machinery, abrasive tools, and shop noise
  • Physical Requirements: Frequent standing and physical activity, repetitive use of handheld grinders, and occasional lifting of more than 50 pounds
