  • Assignments may include performing radio / RF characterization, antenna pattern studies, Wireless communications testing, Carrier Network, PTCRB, EMC/EMI analysis and testing, participating in design analysis, and obtaining domestic and global product approval certifications. 
  • Internal and Third-Party Lab coordination and testing to achieve international product / system compliance.
  • Create detailed product test plans that cover all aspects of the regulatory compliance test effort for the countries in which the product will be deployed.
  • Perform testing, analyze test data, review third-party test results and author clear and comprehensive compliance test reports following internal testing efforts.
  • Provide technical guidance on regulatory impacts and requirements during all phases of product life from requirements development to component and sub-assembly revisions of released products (including Engineering Change Notice review and approval).

QUALIFICATIONS:  
  • BS Degree (Electrical, Mechanical or similar Engineering) or equivalent (combination of associate’s degree / military training and relevant work experience). 
  • Senior Regulatory Compliance Engineer with 10 to 15 years of experience.
  • Related (EMC/EMI) test set ups and verification work experience preferred. 
  • Senior level mitigation experience and knowledge for resolving non-compliance challenges.

A CNC Machine Operator at SSI Manufacturing sets up and runs computer numerical control (CNC) equipment to produce precision components that meet specification, quality, and on-time delivery goals. Work includes loading raw material, inputting or verifying program instructions, monitoring cycles, making offsets/adjustments, and inspecting parts. Operators read blueprints, perform light maintenance, and maintain accurate production/quality logs.

Core Responsibilities

  • Machine setup — Load material, install and adjust tools/workholding, set zeros, verify calibration, and perform test cuts prior to production.
  • Operation & monitoring — Run CNC machines safely; monitor cycle performance; make tool/work offsets, feeds/speeds tweaks, and minor edits as needed to hold spec.
  • Quality control - Read blueprints/GD&T; perform in-process and final inspection using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges; record results.
  • Programming/input — Load programs, verify revisions, and translate drawings into production dimensions at the control; validate with first-article checks.

Qualifications

The Aluminum Fitter is responsible for fabricating, laying out, positioning, aligning, and fitting of aluminum components for both new construction and repair projects. Responsibilities

As an Aluminum Welder, you will use hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components, to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products. This position will be responsible for welding components of the ship and completing repairs or new builds on time, to specifications, and within scope of the project. Completes all the required company training and follows all company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
  • Ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded, completing electrical circuits.
  • Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
  • Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, shielded metal arc, resistance welding, and submerged arc welding.
  • Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.

Seeking a motivated Applications Engineer (AE) to support the sales process by preparing technical and commercial proposals, developing product configurations, and ensuring alignment between customer requirements and internal solutions. Responsibilities:
  • Support the sales team in pre-sales engagements by reviewing customer requirements and recommending solutions.

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of PDUs, RPPs, UL891 switchboards, low-voltage distribution systems, and prefabricated/skidded LV solutions.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite preferred).
  • Understanding of electrical codes and UL standards for low-voltage distribution equipment.

Continental Tide is searching for skilled Marine Electricians II for our Fleet Services in Norfolk, VA. The successful candidate will join our Fleet Services Group performing various ship repairs, modernization and Alteration Installation Team (AIT) projects.

Essential duties & responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Inspecting, repairing, installing, modifying, and maintaining electrical/electronic systems, circuits and equipment.
  • Setting up, checking, and correcting operational and experimental electrical machinery, circuitry, and equipment while adhering to pre-established guidelines and engineering specifications.
  • Performing component and/or system troubleshooting to diagnose the problem and provide most cost-effective recommendation for completing repairs.
  • Perform and/or verify mechanical alignments.
  • Perform on-site field service for system grooms and checkouts, minor repairs and system configuration validation.
  • Inspects and tests electrical systems and equipment to locate and diagnose malfunctions, using visual inspections, testing devices.
  • Assemble multi-pin connectors and fiber optic connections.
  • Utilize standard concepts, practices, and procedures in industry and NAVSEA Standard items
  • Repair and replace cables and connectors.
  • Participating in the installation, maintenance of Combat Systems, PLCs, AC and DC generators, switchboards, distribution panels, lighting and alarm circuits.

Job Overview:

Continental Tide is seeking an experienced and skilled Welder II for our Norfolk, VA office beginning on or around June 2nd. The successful candidate will join our Fleet Services Group performing various ship repair, modernization and Alteration Installation Team (AIT) projects.

Duties & responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Knowledgeable in joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques.
  • Perform various welding processes to repair, modify and install various pipes, structures, foundations and fittings associated with shipboard hydraulic, pneumatic and water systems.
  • Fabricate and install fixtures and jigs required for welding process alignments.
  • Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process.
  • Must be able to select required welding filler materials, joint design, heat ranges and most effective or required welding process/procedure to ensure quality welding operations IAW TWD.
  • Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness and adherence to NAVSEA, ABS & AWS standards. Installs or repairs equipment, such as pipes, valves, floors and tank linings.
  • Leads technical project teams, schedules, reports and briefs customers and senior management.
  • Performs duties outside of specialty in order to complete installation or work assignment.
  • Experience in SMAW, GMAW & GTAW, Ship Fitting and OXY ACC & Propane GAS Cutting torch.
  • Able to weld multiple types, thicknesses & sizes of pipe, plate & bar material in horizontal, overhead and/or vertical positions.

Experience and Skills:

  • Must possess a high school, trade or vocational school degree
  • 5-10 years of direct experience in ship repair and installation of HM&E systems and equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret ship installation drawings, installation specifications and NAVSEA Standard Items is preferred
  • Must have or have the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance
  • Must have the ability to obtain base access and security credentials
  • Ability to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs
