This is a Clarios Distribution Center, where batteries receive their final charge, labeling, and quality checks before heading out to customers around the world. Here, batteries are activated through an initial charge process known as formation, then labeled, packaged, and prepared for shipment. Every unit that leaves a Clarios Distribution Center meets rigorous performance and safety standards, ensuring reliability from day one.

Plant Overview


This is a Distribution Center, where batteries undergo final activation and are prepared for customer delivery.

  • Formation - the process of charging batteries for the first time to activate the chemical reaction that allows them to store and deliver power.
  • Shipping (Sticker) - where batteries are labeled, sorted, and packaged for shipment to customers, ensuring accuracy and readiness for end use.

These final steps ensure each battery meets quality standards before it reaches the road.

What You Will Do:
In this position you will operate automated and semi-automated production machines to manufacture automotive batteries. In addition, operators make minor adjustments during troubleshooting, recognize and diagnose machine problems, and participate in operator preventative maintenance of equipment such as cleaning, greasing, and replacing small parts. Perform visual inspection of machines for quality or productivity problems. Perform required quality checks as trained.


Daily Responsibilities:

  • Operate machinery by controlling and adjusting machine settings, feed raw materials or parts to semi-automated machines.
  • Verify that product meets quality standards and keep records of approved and defective units
  • Clean equipment, tools, etc. and surrounding area between jobs.
  • Follow all safety, quality and production specifications, instructions, written and verbal.

What We're Looking For:

  • 1+ year(s) of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Comfortable working 12+ hour days.
  • Ability to stand/walk for long period of time.
  • Ability to work in a hot environment.
  • Ability to physically bend, twist and kneel in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Basic math, reading and writing skills.
  • Availability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to come in early or stay late depending on production demands.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE.

Location: Fort Wayne, IN


Pay: Starting at $19.57/hr, with opportunities to earn up to $21.82/hr through shift differential and cross-training. Paid weekly on Fridays.


Shift Differential:

  • Non-Continuous (8-hour): 2nd shift +$1.00/hr, 3rd shift +$1.25/hr
  • Continuous (12-hour): Day shift +$0.35/hr, Night shift +$1.25/hr
    Differential applies to employee�s home shift.

Shifts: Multiple schedules available:

  • 12-hour (2-2-3): Days 5:00am�5:30pm / Nights 5:00pm�5:30am (includes every other weekend)
  • 8-hour (Mon�Fri): 1st shift 6:00am�2:30pm / 2nd shift 2:00pm�10:30pm

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor production machinery to support battery packaging and distribution
  • Load and unload pallets, sort shipping dunnage, and maintain efficient production flow
  • Perform quality checks and record production counts in computer systems
  • Decorate and label batteries to meet customer specifications
  • Assist with filling, charging, and final preparation of batteries for shipment
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area following 5S standards and safety guidelines

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1+ year manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred
  • Ability to work 8-hour or 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends
  • Basic math, reading, and computer skills
  • Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs. and performing repetitive physical tasks
  • Must be able to wear required PPE (gloves, safety glasses, uniform, and safety boots)
  • U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident status required (no sponsorship available)

Our Fort Wayne, Indiana Distribution Center opened in 1999 and now employs more than 130 people. The site plays a critical role in charging, packaging, and shipping Clarios batteries used in cars, boats, motorcycles, and heavy-duty trucks.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment, including conveyors and robotics
  • Work with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Diagnose and repair issues with PLCs, VFDs, and high-voltage circuits
  • Perform preventative maintenance to maximize equipment uptime
  • Read and interpret schematics, manuals, and work orders
  • Operate shop tools as needed (lathe, milling machine, drill press, grinder, saws, etc.)
  • Follow all safety standards, including LOTO and PPE requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong mechanical and electrical repair knowledge
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, and high-voltage systems
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and work orders
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Must be able to wear required PPE
