Position Details:

Titles: Mechanical Technician - Final Assembly Line (FAL) / Flight Line (FL) / Completions
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Shifts: Part 21 (Production) runs two shifts - you will start on 1st shift, flexibility to work 2nd shift is a plus:
- 1st Shift: Mon-Fri 7am-3:30pm - may be asked to work weekends and/or holidays
- 2nd Shift: Mon-Fri 3:30pm-12am - may be asked to work weekends and/or holidays. Part 145 (Maintenance) runs two shifts:
- 1st Shift: Mon-Fri 7am-3:30pm - may be asked to work weekends and/or holidays
- 2nd Shift: Mon-Thu 1pm-11:30pm (4x10 schedule)
Compensation: Depends on position and experience:
Jr Completions Mechanical Technician: $27.74/hr - $30.00/hr Mechanical FAL Technician: $30.18/hr - $32.98/hr Sr Mechancal FAL / FL Mech Tech: $33.05/hr - $36.30/hr Completions Mechanical Technician: $33.05/hr - $36.30/hr Sr FL Mech Tech / Sr Completions Mech: $37.16/hr - $40.67/hr
*2nd Shift earns $1.50/hr Shift Differential

Position Descriptions: Production (FAA Part 21) or Maintenance (FAA Part 145) of mechanical parts and systems for company’s AW119, AW139 and AW609 helicopters.

Mechanical Final Assembly Line (FAL) Technician (Part 21):
• Accurately install all mechanical parts for helicopter assembly, such as rotor head, transmissions, engines, hydraulic lines and flight controls.
• Work in areas that may be cramped and/or have little room.
• Work from engineering drawings/revisions and job cards.
• Perform job in amount of time given, in accordance with the production schedule.
• On the job training.

Mechanical Flight Line (FL) Technician (Part 21):
• Assist in the transfer of helicopters from the Production line to Flight Line.
• Perform incoming inspections.
• Install main rotor blades, fill oils and perform fuel function testing in accordance with applicable job cards.
• Perform engine dry motoring, to ensure proper function before first engine start up.
• Perform periodic weight and balance operations depending on helicopter configuration.
• Perform Track and Balance Flights, and make adjustments to eliminate high vibrations on airframe and Main & Tail Rotors, including pitch link adjustments, and addition of weight(s) to Tail and Main rotor(s).
• Perform fueling and defueling operations.
• Assist in the installation interior and custom components: hoist, cargo hook, auxiliary fuel system, etc.
• Prepare helicopters for flight, launch and recover helicopters, and prepare helicopters for customer delivery.
• Testing and approval testing of assemblies (such as mechanical ATPs).

• Support and training of colleagues
• Interface with other units of the division (production, engineering, logistics, quality).

Completions Mechanical Technician (Part 145):
• Perform inspections, repairs, services and modifications according to FAA regulations and standards.
• Perform scheduled and special inspections; correct discrepancies; service systems, adjust, repair or replace parts and/or assemble as authorized and assigned.
• Determine malfunctions by performing standard tests and inspections by using common and diagnostic test equipment.
• Remove, inspect, assemble and install major helicopter components, parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies.
• Remove, disassemble, inspect, repair or replace, assemble and install airframe parts, assemblies; inspect, remove, repair or replace and assemble engine, hydraulic, electrical, fuel and ambient system.
• Service any/all aircraft systems. Tow, park, moor and store the aircraft. Wash, clean, prepare for customer delivery of the aircraft; perform engine rinse and wash procedures.
• Perform and maintain any/all paperwork on job performance, materials used, task performed, and time used.
• Perform on-the-job training for co-workers as assigned.
• Be available and qualified to travel as assigned by the Operations Director to perform routine, preventive or corrective maintenance, and support company or customer or customer owned aircraft.
• Repair/troubleshoot MGB, TGB, IGB, MR, TR, SP and their sub systems covering all company product line approved for P145 Repair Station. Determine performance & airworthiness of components.
• Support the shop with components wrapping/unwrapping/crating/uncrating etc.

Requirements: The company is seeking Mechanical Technicians with skills in Technical documentation, Work instructions, Assembly instructions, Maintenance manuals, Engineering drawings, Manufacturing, Bolt torquing, Tightening specifications, Tool operation, Engine installation, Powertrain assembly, Transmission installation, Fuel system installation, A/C installation and maintenance (Refrigeration systems, Compressor installation), Precision measurement and Hydraulic system overhaul.
Mechanical Final Assembly Line (FAL) Technician (Part 21):
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of mechanical aviation production required.
• Knowledge of rotor or fixed wing aircraft.
• General overall knowledge of aviation mechanics.
• Able to perform standard assembly operations and fitting of major assemblies.
o Crimp pipe, fit hydraulic systems, fit fuel bags, use torque wrenches and overhead cranes.
o Fit landing gear, engines, tail assembly, MGB, TGB, IGB, shafts, flight controls, aesthetics sealing.
• Able to work through obstacles and know the best method to perform the job.
• Effective communication skills.

Mechanical Flight Line (FL) Technician (Part 21):
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A&P certificate a plus but not necessary.
• 5 years of aviation mechanical maintenance training/experience.
• Rotor wing experience preferred.
• Able to perform standard assembly operations, fitting of major assemblies and ATP operating tests.
o Crimp pipe, fit hydraulic systems, fit fuel bags, use torque wrenches and overhead cranes.
o Fit landing gear, engines, tail assembly, MGB, TGB, IGB, shafts, flight controls, aesthetics sealing.
o Pressure testing on hydraulic pipes, fuel, ECS system, mechanical components, hydraulic benches.
• Able to work through obstacles and know the best method to perform the job.

• Aircraft and flight control rigging desired.
• Effective communication skills.
• General knowledge of ground support equipment.

Completions Mechanical Technician (Part 145):
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• FAA A&P Certificate
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul environment or P145.
• Experience on repairs of Helicopter Dynamic Components is a plus.
• Knowledge on computer system and able to handle electronic information including but not limited to IETP's, FAA information, BT's, and/or company drawings.
• Able to log information on computers for work performed.
• Follow AS9100 regulations.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical principals as applied to aviation and must be able to use / interpret diagrams, blueprints and technical publications.
• Strong teamwork, communications, problem-solving, decision-making.
• Detail-oriented and adaptable.
• Able to work 4 day / 10 hr per day 2.30 PM -1.00 AM shift, if required.
