Job Location: Lancaster, PA Schedule: 1st shift, Monday through Friday, some overtime required. Summary: The Hershey Company Y&S plant is a Non-Union plant producing all the Twizzler products in a high-speed complex environment. The Electrical Engineer is a key member of the technical team at the Y&S production facility. Responsibilities: This role is responsible for ensuring that plant electrical, controls and network systems are fully operational and reliable to support the conversion of raw materials to finished product, while adhering to schedule, rate of production and all quality specifications. Key responsibilities of the position include managing electrical engineering/controls projects, troubleshooting complex controls issues, oversight of the plant’s electrical infrastructure. This position will be involved primarily with various projects to improve employee safety, product quality, process efficiency/cost reduction, facility improvements as well as employee morale. This role is a senior level position that will have the opportunity to support, lead and manage capital projects in the areas of processing and packaging equipment as well as facilities and plant utilities, facility IT and Data Integration. It is a vital role for the Y&S location due to the complexity of plant processes, level of technology (and varying technologies) and the number of processes influenced by controls function (essentially all). This position is also responsible for managing technical projects and serving as a resource for electrical issues across the plant. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for managing controls obsolescence and energy management for the site as well as providing input to specific areas of the engineering budget. This position is also often involved in assisting the corporate engineering team with policy updates. This position directly impacts the development of plant electrician technical skills through mentorship and various training opportunities.
