Position Details:
Title: Production Coordinator
Location: Yankton, SD
Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm
Compensation: $58,000-$70,000

Travel: None

Position Description: The Production Coordinator is part of the manufacturing support team and will manage capacity, throughput, and optimize flow for all manufacturing and support functions. This position will coordinate activities associated with development, implementation, and results in the planning and scheduling all levels of production to satisfy sales requirements and finished goods stocking levels.

Works with customer service and manufacturing to create/negotiate an effective plan; follows up with necessary adjustments to support both internal and external scheduling metrics
Reviews/analyzes customer forecast/demand to aid in managing capacity and scheduling a successful plan to achieve customer requirements
Manages required stocking levels for finished goods, and work-in-progress throughout all manufacturing process, makes necessary adjustments to insure proper quantities are manufactured shipped and warehoused.
Coordinate new product introductions with the new part team
Proficient using all scheduling and simulation tools for managing shop capacity to create a load that can be successfully achieved based on known limits
Revises production schedules as required due to order changes, labor/material shortages, capacity constraints, unexpected situations, and collaborates with plant management personnel to develop a contingency plan.
Identifies, recommends and takes corrective actions to solve scheduling/capacity issues
Drives and implements continuous improvements through lean tools, researching new technology, developing people and processes.
Maintains a professional and technical knowledge by participating in education workshops, reviewing professional publications, and implementing cost effective and profitable ways to increase throughput.

Requirements:

Four year degree and/or relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment.
Individual must be able to work with little to no supervision after initial training period, showing a high degree of initiative and self-motivation. Must demonstrate consistently being a good example of providing informal leadership and excellent work ethic.
Experience with purchasing, expediting, MRP/ ERP systems, quality/continuous improvement initiatives, manufacturing safety practices
Must be able to maintain confidentiality of customer and company information

Work Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this Position. While performing the duties of this position, the employee will work in an office environment as well as being exposed to the manufacturing floor. This position is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. No travel is expected for this position.

Physical Requirements:
This is largely a sedentary role where the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; however, while performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; the employee is occasionally required reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
