Duties:  
  • Minimum of 5 years’ medium/heavy duty dealership experience
  • Minimum 3 years shop and technician supervisory experience 
  • Skilled Diesel Technician with own tools
  • PA inspection license preferred
  • International/IC dealership experience preferred
  • Valid, clean driver’s license
  • CDL is a plus.

Base expectations of role:

  • This position directs and supports the service technicians to ensure that all repairs are performed correctly and efficiently.
  • Effectively maintain their mechanical work load. 
  • Investigating the progress of vehicle repair completion by conducting periodic spot checks of all jobs throughout the day to ensure timely repairs, quality workmanship and cleanliness.
  • Providing on-the-job technical support for technicians as required and assisting in the development of their technical skills and abilities.
  • Assists with ensuring all technicians OEM web-based training is completed.
  • Assists with hiring and onboarding of new technicians.
  • Performs “one on one “with the technicians Monthly. 
  • Assists with the technician review and assessment process twice per year.
  • Works with the Service advisor to ensure all deadlines and customer expectations are met.
  • Works with the service advisor to ensure dispatch of work is correctly distributed that aligns with tech skills sets.
  • Oversees all OEM casefiles at the technician level.
  • Primary Diagnostic tech assigned to Diagnostic Bay.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment throughout the shop.
  • Responsible for maintaining all shop equipment and tools and they remain in proper working order
  • Conducts weekly shop staff meeting with techs.

Description

The Field Service Engineer I installs, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, calibrates, and upgrades advanced medical equipment used in hospitals, laboratories, and healthcare facilities throughout an assigned territory.
This role supports a variety of medical devices, including Maternal Infant Care equipment such as fetal monitors and Giraffe OmniBeds. The Field Service Engineer performs preventative maintenance, equipment upgrades, warranty repairs, software updates, calibrations, and technical troubleshooting while building strong customer relationships with healthcare professionals.
This position is an excellent opportunity for technicians from military, industrial maintenance, electronics, biomedical, manufacturing, or mechanical repair backgrounds who are looking to transition into the growing medical device industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain specialized medical equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance, Field Modification Instructions (FMIs), recalls, and equipment upgrades
  • Complete equipment calibration, testing, and performance verification to manufacturer specifications
  • Install software updates, firmware revisions, and warranty repairs
  • Document service activities, repairs, parts usage, and customer interactions using ServiceMax
  • Travel throughout the assigned territory to perform scheduled service calls
  • Build strong customer relationships with hospital and laboratory personnel

  • Associate degree, military technical training, or trade school certification preferred
  • One of the following:
    • 2–4 years of field service, industrial maintenance, electronics, biomedical equipment, mechanical repair, military technical, or similar technical experience
    • Associate degree or technical certification with at least one year of hands-on technical experience (internships and apprenticeships accepted)
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and service procedures
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory
