  • Be well-versed in multiple controls systems, as they may be on a different site each day based on the service calls that come in on a daily basis.
  • Communicate directly with the customer in order to satisfy the needs regarding the specifics of what is required to solve the issue on a particular site.
  • Document the services performed on a service call on a FSR (Field Service Report), with details of what the service call consisted of and documentation of whether the call is complete or will require a follow-up visit.
  • Replace failed parts, controllers, wire, relays, and devices as required.
  • Maintain a good disposition with customers and deal with them in a courteous manner at all times.
  • Verify devices, panels, and annunciators of controls projects.
  • Ensure timely software backups are created for projects and software development.
  • Complete time sheets, service work orders, and other paperwork required for this position in an accurate and timely manner.
In order to be successful in this role:
  • You should have good electrical, electronic, and/or mechanical aptitude, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of such equipment and systems as AC/DC motors, industrial controls, compressors, backup generators, etc.
  • You should also have a clear ability to work with electronic equipment such as volt meters, amp meters, oscilloscopes, etc.
