Job Summary:

This position is concerned with the performance of dimensional inspection and non-destructive examination of component parts in accordance with established procedures and specifications. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Essential Functions Statement(s)/Skills Required:

  • Perform inspections on all parts, assemblies, and fabrications as specified on drawings and route cards; record results of the inspection and indicate disposition.
  • Set-up assemblies and perform dimensional inspections using scales, tape measure, layout and optical equipment, and other hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, depth gages.
  • When performing dimensional inspections of parts machined by outside vendors, review Purchase Order to ensure all requirements have been met.
  • Review procedures to determine process requirements, and requirements for other associated processes such as tube rolling, hydro-testing, cleaning, and painting, and assess whether the requirements have been satisfactorily performed. Report results.
  • Conduct audits of manufacturing operations including identification of material and identification of welding operator qualifications. Audit drawing control and adhere to work instructions and procedures.
  • Perform surveillance on material identification in the shop and in stores; insure segregation of scrap material from material in-process.
  • In receiving inspection, work closely with shipper and receiver to ensure that all requirements and specifications are met.
  • Maintain calibration program for company inspection equipment, tools and personally owned gages.
  • Visit vendor facilities to audit capabilities and to perform inspections of vendor work.
  • Work with customer representatives and/or Government Inspectors to review customer inspection points as assigned.
  • Maintain inspection records and documentation files as required.
  • When necessary, travel to investigate customer reported PDS problem.
  • When applicable, verify any corrections made to company products in the field are in conformance with contract requirements.
  • Provide written reports as required.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: High School Graduate, or the equivalent, with additional instruction in NDT and/or Dimensional Inspection. Completion of an apprenticeship program is desirable.

Experience: Minimum of two years of NDE and/or Dimensional Inspection experience in an industrial environment.

Other Skills & Abilities:

  • Must have thorough knowledge of NDE and/or dimensional inspection principles and their application to industrial inspection problems.
  • Must apply individual initiative to accomplish the necessary inspections and conduct audits to assure compliance with required processes.
  • Must be familiar with and qualify for specified non-destructive test procedures and have a thorough knowledge of related specifications.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints commonly found in heavy manufacturing environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Computer Skills: Computer skills required. Must have a working knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft applications such as WORD, Excel, and Outlook.

Travel:
  • Travel is an essential job requirement for this position. As a CSE, you will travel regularly throughout assigned region to customer accounts; your region is centered around Portland, OR and stretches approximately 2 hours in all directions. Position Description:
  • As the Service Technician, you will be in a field-based, customer-facing role that installs, services, maintains and modifies equipment at customer sites. The selected candidate will work at sites with minimal supervision and will perform on-site customer repairs and be responsible for delivering both timely and effective repairs. It will be your responsibility to provide on-site training after installs to help ensure the systems optimal performance resulting in superior customer satisfaction. The Field Service Technician will help with managing financial performance within their territory: meeting or exceeding budget for revenue generation, expense control and inventory management. The Field Service Tech/Engineer is a key contributor in maintaining ongoing customer interaction to solve and prevent technical difficulties. The Field Service Tech/Engineer interfaces directly with the Customer Care Manager, Technical Manager, Clinical Application Specialist, Product Managers, Sales Representatives, and customers. These interfaces are required to provide superior product service responsiveness and customer satisfaction. The Service Engineer integrates the technical capabilities and available resources, with effective territory and business management skills to develop and maintain superior service levels. You will need to make decisions on best plan of action to keep the customer's equipment downtime to a minimum.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Possess total familiarity with mechanical, electronic, optical, and operational aspects of designated products as evidenced by the ability to effectively install and repair/service designated instruments.
  • Provide customer troubleshooting assistance as required.
  • Provide product service for clinical field trial installations.
  • Perform warranty and maintenance work necessary to keep customer level of service and satisfaction high.
  • Recommend service manual revisions.
Requirements:
  • Candidates must have top-notch electronic systems knowledge and troubleshooting/repair skills in addition to unparalleled customer service skills (relationship development, conflict management, active listening and problem solving, interpersonal communication, etc.).
  • Experience in the Bio-Medical field is a huge plus, but not required.
  • Candidates must be able to interpret electronic system schematics and flow-charts.
  • A highly tuned mechanical aptitude and the ability to visualize and explain situations and resolutions are also critical in this role.

Position Summary:

Seeking a hands-on, service-oriented technician with a desire to grow into a Field Service Engineer (FSE) role. This position involves ATS startups, modifications, and handling warranty/emergency service calls.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently perform ATS preventive maintenance, startup, and basic troubleshooting
  • Understand and verify communication protocols (Modbus, TCP/IP) for Russelectric equipment
  • Write Method of Procedures (MOPs) for ATS modifications/startups
  • Provide timely, professional field reports to customers and internal stakeholders
  • Accurately track time and expenses
  • Assist with installation of 480VAC/12.47KVAC systems, ATS, switchgear, circuit breakers, and generator controls
  • Support field startups, warranty repairs, and preventive maintenance contracts
  • Ensure safety compliance on all job sites
  • Remain on-call 24/7 as needed
  • Provide technical support and client communication with strong customer service focus
  • Negotiate scope changes and associated charges

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years in Field Service Engineering
  • Training in electrical theory/technologies or relevant military experience
  • Experience with power distribution, AC/DC systems, and voltage circuit theory
  • Diesel power generation controls experience (including paralleled systems)
  • Strong electrical background: low voltage to medium voltage systems
  • Schematic and blueprint reading for power/automation systems
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. permanently without sponsorship


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years Field Service Engineering experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong ATS (Automated Transfer Switches) knowledge
  • Familiarity with industry codes/standards
