Production Supervisor

Midwest
US Marine Corps, O-3

I left active service as a Captain after a little over four years in the Marine Corps in July 2008. I was a tank officer in 1st Tank Battalion, 1st Marine Division, and deployed overseas twice - the first time in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and the second with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit. I began looking for jobs via the internet around the middle/end of August of this year after taking some time off.

My Orion International recruiter was Todd Phillips. He was extremely friendly, eager, and willing to help. He listened to the priorities that I had laid down in regards to my job search (mainly, staying in the Chicago-land area). Orion understood my priorities, especially location.

Other firms would talk to me about openings in Wisconsin and southern/central Illinois when I explicitly told them I wanted to stay near Chicago. Perhaps just as important, I did not feel pressured like I had with some of the other hiring agencies.

I went attended a hiring conference towards the beginning of October in Illinois. I had two interviews scheduled and wound up receiving an offer from one of those companies after several follow-on interviews at their office in West Chicago, IL.

When I begin my job, I will start as a production supervisor for Liquid Container - a blow-molding manufacturer. It's a great company with great people, a great location, and I can use this to get my foot in the door and launch my civilian career. Thanks!
