Project Engineer

Northeast
US Marine Corps, O-3

I was a logistics officer in the U.S. Marine Corps and will be officially exiting the service in August 2008 as a Captain. I began my job search around fall 2007. I had heard about Orion International about two years prior to separating, but I did not really learn that much about them until I spoke with Mike Wood, whom I had known when we were both serving as Officer Selection Officers for the Marine Corps.

Mike definitely listened to and considered all of my concerns and needs when moving ahead in the process with me. He did an exceptional job of keeping me updated on what was taking place and what I could do on my end to make myself a stronger candidate.

I actually never attended a hiring conference. Mike was able to setup a phone interview for me with Natgun Corporation that led to a formal interview at the company’s corporate office. That interview turned into a job. I am now a project engineer with Natgun Corporation. This company, as well as the type of job and opportunities for advancement, is definitely what I was looking for.

Compared to other recruiting agencies, I felt that Orion had a more focused approached to the process that took all of the candidate’s needs into consideration (location, job type, salary range, etc.). Overall, I was extremely pleased with my interaction with Orion. I would certainly recommend Orion to any of my fellow Marine Officers as they look to transition out of the service.
