Field Engineer

West
US Navy, E-5

I was in the Navy for five-and-a-half years as an electronics technician (E-5), working mainly with radar. I started my job search about two months before I got out but didn't get any interviews on my own. I then began to work with another recruiting agency. While they were able to get me interviews, they didn't go well, and I had no response from any of them. Unfortunately, I got no constructive criticism from the agency, and they stopped calling.

Two weeks later, I began to work with Q Truong and attended an Orion International hiring conference. Unlike the other agency I worked with, Orion insisted on practice interviews to get us used to talking about ourselves in front of strangers. This must have helped me, because I felt more comfortable and got positive response from three of five companies with whom I interviewed.

I got further positive feedback from Q during the second interview process. He kept up with my progress during the next few weeks. I took a job with Upwind Solutions as a Field Engineer and have been treated well by all parties involved. Orion was definitely better than the competition, and Q has continued to stay involved even after I started working. Thank you very much, Orion!
