Utility Plant Operator

West
US Navy, E-5

I was in the military for six years as a nuclear electricians mate and achieved the rank of second class petty officer while worked mainly in the engineering department. I left the Navy in April 2008 at the end of my obligated service and started looking for jobs in late March when I was on terminal leave. I learned about Orion International from a co-worker who handed me a business card for Quang Truong.

‘Q’ was very personable and answered all of the questions that I had even before starting to officially work with Orion. He also continued to help me throughout the entire process. Jim Lewis and Jay Koranda also worked with me. They were great people and were very helpful in making sure all of my concerns were addressed, as well as my needs and wants taken care of.

When I started I went to a hiring conference in the Seattle area and interviewed with a lot of companies. I went there expecting only to get some practice interviewing. I never thought I would find and land the perfect job for me. I just started working for Genentech as a utility plant operator, and it is the job that I was looking for and hoped to get.

Orion met all of my needs, unlike some of the other recruiting agencies that I was using. I would recommend Orion to help all of my friends and co-workers. I would even use them again in the future, although I know I won’t have to! I would like to say thank you to everyone at Orion for assisting veterans in their job searches.
