Inventory Control Manager

In September 2011 I came out of the military looking for work with very little success. I had transferable skills having been in the corporate world for over six years before deciding to serve in the military for a few years. I attended multiple career fairs, spoke with my extended network of formal corporate contacts, and not much was available out there at the time. For over two years, I dabbled in a few odd jobs to make ends meet but nothing was long term.

One morning in April 2014 while reading testimonials online, I stumbled on the name Orion International and how they help junior military officers transition into civilian jobs. I decided to try them out not hoping for much. Within three hours, I got a phone call from Melisa Tobakos from Orion, and she asked for my resume to share with some recruiters within her Cincinnati office.

This is how I got introduced to Jay Diller and Todd Phillips. It is a little hazy to me now because stuff moved so fast but looking at the forest view; I communicated with these three Orion International professionals a lot within the next two weeks. They helped me format my resume, screen employers, and arrange interviews.

After looking for over two years, it was amazing to have about four good leads within a two week period. Long story short, it took me about two months from contacting Orion International to having an offer in hand. I will even say the two months was because of my desire to stay within Minnesota and the logistics/ timeline of Polaris' recruiting process. I now have a good job exposing me to great opportunities, and I am loving it.

These professionals sure helped me a great deal, and I can't praise them loudly enough. Thanks a bunch Melisa, Jay, Todd, and everyone else within Orion unknown to me that help me in this process.
