Position Details:
• Title: Building Operating Engineer
• Location: Columbus, OH
• Shift: Normal Day Shift
• Compensation: Expected First Year Comp = $63k – 73k
Base Payrate ($52 – 60k base) $52,000 – 60,000
Overtime (approx. 10% OT) $7,800 – 9,000
Bonus Plan (3% target) $1,560 – 1,800
On-Call Payout (on Average) $1,500 – 2,000
Total $62,860 – 72,800

Position Description:
In this position, you will play important roles in the operation, maintenance and management of sophisticated, state-of-the-art building systems, processes, special projects, building renovation, tenant relations, budgetary planning and team building. Specific duties include:
• To professionally respond to tenant requests and the public
• To effectively and efficiently operate and maintain all HVAC and Mechanical, Electrical, Life Safety and Plumbing equipment (the building has 3 Trane 9000-ton A/C units, a 280-ton mini chiller, and 2 Cleaver Brooks 1.6-million BTU boilers)
• To serve as a Systems Operator and to perform and supervise maintenance work by building technicians, contractors, and vendors
• To learn and implement skill sets, develop knowledge and apply procedures to maintain eligibility for promotion to positions requiring greater responsibility, authority, and understanding of systems, procedure, and policy
• On-call rotation (for after hours and weekend trouble calls) // you should expect responsibilities on a 1 week out of 7 rotation basis // payouts for on-call responsibilities is more than market competitive (you are paid 4 hours of straight-time pay just for being in the rotation, regardless of getting a single call…plus you are paid an hour for any call that you take, and for any call that requires you to come into the building you will be paid a minimum of 3 hours of straight-time pay)

Qualifications/Requirements:
Company is looking for electrical and mechanical technicians with excellent customer service skills. Candidates should have 2+ years of experience in commercial HVAC or related field. Candidates must demonstrate a strong work ethic, initiative, attention to detail, drive for excellence, and excellent communication skills. Candidates must possess good computer skills, strong time management skills, problem solving skills, and excellent interpersonal skills.
