$28-$35 /hr depending on experience
$1 shift differential for Night Shift
Position Summary:
Night Shift Only
Repair and install production/manufacturing equipment. Inspect equipment for proper functioning and perform preventative maintenance duties per manufacturer's specifications. Diagnose equipment malfunctions and makes repairs or adjustments as needed.
Essential Functions:
To accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
- Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns.
- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on production equipment as needed.
- Perform breakdown analysis.
- Repair mechanical systems, conveyors, hydraulic systems, pneumatics and air compressors, and pumps.
- Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams and product manuals to determine the method and sequence of assembly of a part, machine, or piece of equipment.
- Upgrade production lines with new equipment/technology.
- Understand and follow proper lock out/tag out procedures as required.
- Comply with GMP, safety, and audit standards.
- Document work schedule and work tasks completed.
- Perform basic housekeeping to keep area clean and safe.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
4 years' experience in related field with proven industry experience, including:
- Industrial, heavy truck, automotive or farm equipment repair.
- Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic components
- Bearing installation and handling
- Plumbing and piping
- Blueprint reading

Position Summary:
To accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Candidates have to be open for all shifts (1st, 2nd and 3rd).
* Forklift Operator experience not required, training provided.
- Adhere to plant-wide safety, ergonomics and environmental requirements defined by Amsted Rail.
- Measure dimensions of processed work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using gauges in accordance with the departmental quality plan.
- Check condition of grinding wheels for defects, cracks or chips.
- Assist personnel with the changing over of grinding wheels.
- Select and safely use power tools.
- Select program into machine control units to start operation.
- Remove and replace worn grinding wheels and dress new wheels to desired performance.
- Operate a forklift to stage part bins for processing.
- Lift machine components and position manually or with hoists or cranes.
- Listen to machines during operation to detect sounds such as those made by worn grinding and regulation wheels or excessive vibration and adjust machines to compensate for problems.
- Additional duties as assigned.
