This program provides FREE hands-on training for transitioning service members, helping jumpstart your career in the HVAC industry. No GI Bill or VA funds are used.

Trade Warriors™ provides a seamless transition into your civilian career, allowing you to earn active duty pay and benefits while you train to become a certified HVAC Technician.

TRAINING
- 8 weeks of hands-on training at the Trane Trade Warriors Learning Lab, located onsite at Fort Bragg, NC
- This training program will allow you to earn EPA and NATE certifications

INTERVIEW & HIRE
- During the training program, you will interview with Trane dealers in a variety of locations nationwide
- Once you accept an offer, your start date will coincide with your separation date

TRAINING OUTLINE:
The training curriculum includes
- Refrigeration in air-conditioning systems
- Heating for gas furnace and heat-pump systems
- Electrical and electrical control components in HVAC systems
- Controls found in residential comfort systems
- Hands-on Installation of air-conditioners, heat-pumps, and gas furnace systems
- Introduction to Load Calculation and Duct Design for quality installations.
- Residential HVAC Maintenance and Service

• Location: Tempe, AZ (consideration can be made for candidates living in other parts of the state as well)
• Travel/Schedule: You generally will be providing service to customers in the local area; overnight travel is not overly common
• Compensation: Target base rate ~$37/hr - $47/hr for Sr.-level Techs (they also have the ability to hire into a mid-range role at ~$30/hr - $35/hr).

Position Description: Sr HVAC Technician
In this position you will be commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, and starting up HVAC systems in commercial environments such as Healthcare, Process Manufacturing Facilities, Education Institutions and Office Complexes. In order to perform your task you will utilize your knowledge of air conditioning theory, chiller systems / cooling towers, pipe fitting, and mechanical layouts. Some specific responsibilities include:
• Responsible for end-to-end testing, downloading programming, starting up, commissioning and servicing on assigned projects.
• Represent the company by serving as the direct customer contact and be responsible for servicing products and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, examining, diagnosing and repairing equipment and systems at customer’s location.
• Coordinate with team leader/project manager and customer to precisely understand requirements for all on-site installation and repairs by forecasting issues, gathering materials and synchronizing on-site work.
• Use cutting edge software and technology, along with a variety of hand-tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units.
• Continually enforce safety to the highest standards and maintains security and accountability of company issued and procured assets by recording use, wear and conditions.
• Mentor team members. Display team effort and dedication to customer by maintaining flexibility to work overtime and weeks as the business requires, including occasional overnight stays.

Qualifications:
• Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems associated with HVAC equipment and systems. Specific experience with chillers, cooling towers, etc is required (ideally 8+ years to be considered for Senior-level Technician role).
• Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to:
o DUI in the previous 5 years
o Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
• This position requires working in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, precarious places, and risk of electrical shock (high voltage).
