Position Description
As a Maintenance Technician, you will troubleshoot, diagnose and repair all mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and systems within the facility to insure smooth operation, production and safe working conditions. Additional responsibilities will include:

• Troubleshooting and repairing problems encountered during day-to-day operations of the facility.
• Performing preventative maintenance on equipment and systems to prevent downtime and deterioration.
• Performing work assignments on projects for the continued growth, expansion and safety of the plant/work areas.
• Working with outside contractor to perform installation or service of equipment within the facility.
• Assisting machine operators to minimize downtime and completing scheduled cleaning or changeovers of equipment.

Position Details:
Location: Rockford, IL
Salary: $20-$22/hr, + OT. First year W2 will be ~$50K-$55K+.
Shift: 3rd shift, 10pm-8am (Wednesday-Saturday).
Supervisory: Significant leadership of ~8-10 direct reports.

• Must possess outstanding electrical/electronic troubleshooting abilities with some controls understanding/experience and solid mechanical aptitude.
• Must have solid industrial maintenance experience, whether in the military or other industrial settings, troubleshooting of electrical systems.
• Must possess demonstrated technical training experience in electricity, electronics or equipment maintenance and be capable of logic and sequential development and troubleshooting including proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics.

• Demonstrate competency in Reliability Work Process or related MRP system experience, Reading Blueprints, Reading Schematics and Symbols, Metal Fabrication and Cutting, Machine Shop Operations, Working With Nonmetals, Industrial Safety and Health, Well Developed Analytical and Troubleshooting Skills, Welding Principles, Basic Electricity and Electronics, Basic Mechanics, Lubrication, Drive Components, Selecting Bearings, Understanding of Pump Operations, Piping System, Basic Hydraulics, Basic Pneumatics, Industrial Rigging Principles and Operations, Equipment Installation, Basic Milling Procedures, Bulk Handling Conveyors, Maintenance of Mechanical Drives, Mechanical and Fluid Drive Systems, Installing and Replacing Bearings and Shaft Seals, Pump Installation and Maintenance, Installation and Maintenance Pipefitting, Installation and Maintenance Tubing and Hose Systems, and Conserving Energy in Mechanical Systems.

Position Requirements
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Science, Technology or Related Discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3 - 5 years progressive leadership experience in manufacturing setting or similar environment.
• Six Sigma / Lean manufacturing experience is highly desired.
• Ability to make decisions based on facts and/or data including having the basic mathematics and technical skills to analyze data, interpret graphs, and combine related data.
• Ability to lead unionized hourly employees.
• Ability to create and drive change and effectively communicate to all levels in the organization.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as effectively facilitate open two-way communication both within and outside of the organization.
