Franchise Opportunities with Precision Playgrounds

Orion has recently partnered with Precision Playgrounds, a leading installer of commercial playgrounds, and sports and recreation equipment. Since 2002, Precision Playgrounds has installed thousands of playgrounds nationwide.

Known for its consistency, professionalism, attention to detail and a high level of customer service, Precision Playgrounds is rapidly expanding and is seeking entrepreneurial transitioning and former service members to join its team as Franchisees. The company began franchising its operations in 2008 and currently has more than 20 franchises in 34 states.

Precision Playgrounds’ Franchisees are dedicated and hard-working business owners who have a strict eye for detail. As a Franchisee, you are responsible for building and hiring your own team, managing your own budget, and taking on projects across the country. As a business owner, your salary is determined by how much business you take on and how well you manage your budget. The average Franchisee takes home between $120,000-$150,000 in their first year, with top performers taking home well over $200,000 in their first full year on the job.

Stacey Pyle, Director of Operations at Precision Playgrounds, recently attended an Orion Hiring Conference to speak with attending veterans about the company’s Franchise opportunities. “We have 21 Franchisees and plan to hire 10 more this year. We hired four people through Orion last year,” Stacey said about Precision Playgrounds’ growth. “Revenue last year was about $4.9 million, and this year we expect to do $6 million, maybe more,” she continued.

Veteran Spotlight: Elison Talabong

This week, we’re proud to profile Elison Talabong, a former US Navy Aviation Ordnanceman Senior Chief Petty Officer who is now a Product Support Engineer with Axcelis Technologies. Elison worked with Orion in late 2018 to help find his post-military career.

“Before my actual retirement date from the Navy, I was very nervous and stressed out over what my next career would be,” Elison recalled. “I filled out about a dozen job applications and was only invited to one job interview! This all changed for me when Orion Talent came to my rescue,” he stated. “Now I have a steady and stable job in a field that has a bright future.”

Orion helped him find a great opportunity as a Product Support Engineer with Axcelis Technologies, and Elison has found his career to be very rewarding. “We provide around the clock remote and local technical support for our customers around the world who have purchased our semi-conductive machines,” Elison explained. “I honestly can see myself doing this job until I fully retire in 20 years.”

According to Elison, the technical and leadership skills he acquired in the military prepared him in his new career, even in a new field. “These skills have helped me learn and grow in my new position,” he stated.

In addition to these soft skills, the military also prepared him physically. “The military has made me to be ‘thick-skinned,’ and to not be bothered by challenging jobs,” he said. “My new role is very high travel, which is a hard thing for about 80 percent of the employees here,” Elison explained.

Elison advised fellow veterans to never underestimate how marketable the military has prepared you to be. “You have learned valuable skills most civilian companies do not teach or practice. You are worth more in the civilian sector than you think,” Elison assured.

If you are transitioning soon and looking for a civilian career, join Elison and the thousands of others like him who have found rewarding careers through Orion Talent. Begin your career search with Orion and register today.

Military Officers Connect with Civilian Careers at Orion’s Distinguished Candidate Conferences

Orion Talent is gearing up for another exciting season of Distinguished Candidate Conferences.  With DCCs scheduled in March all across the country, there will be Engineering, Sales, Project Management, Leadership Development, and Operations Management positions available nationwide.

Distinguished candidates include graduates of Military Service Academies or Top Universities, those with an advanced education, and those that have consistently ranked above their peers in Officer Evaluations.

Our DCCs offer a unique format, designed to maximize our candidates’ chances of receiving a job offer, consisting of interview preparation, briefings by the interviewing companies, and a President's Reception to network with hiring managers and other candidates, culminating in interviews the next day.

You can view a complete guide to our DCCs in this video featuring Orion Regional Recruiting Manager Mike Wood:
