Position: MEP Project Engineer – Construction
Location: Boston, MA
Salary: 85K to 100K + bonus
Schedule: Monday through Friday – daytime hours
Position Description: MEP Project Engineer – Construction
The Construction MEP Project Engineer supports the Project Superintendents and Project Managers on active Construction projects. The MEP PE serves as facilitator of the 3D model MEP coordination process on the project and handles all documents and processes associated with the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection (“MEP”) trades.
Participate in Trade Procurement and Management
Maintain thorough understanding of contract documents and subcontracts
Maintain all Construction Project Documents
Review and process all MEP Requests for Information (“RFI”). Maintain RFI Log
Review and process all MEP Submittals. Maintain Submittal Log
Manage project closeout and obtain all documents required for final acceptance
Lead the MEP trade coordination process
Maintain a federated 3D model of MEP trade and design models
Develop and manage a coordination schedule to feed into the project schedule
Maintain an issues log and follow up with appropriate parties through resolution
Coordinate between trades and design team to resolve design drawing conflicts
Compile MEP Composite and As-Built drawings
Schedule, Attend and Prepare meeting minutes for job meetings.
Assist in developing project schedule with Project Superintendents and Project Managers.
Maintain progress and quality documentation with Superintendent.
Ensure Related Beal procedures and standards are maintained.
Review and provide feedback for monthly requisition.
Minimum of 1-5 years of relevant experience, knowledge, and understanding of civil or MEP engineering, project management, real estate, development preferred
Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks preferred
Complex thinker of high intelligence
Ability to learn and operate various types of computer software
Strong time management skills, results-driven, adaptable with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Keen attention to detail
High energy; possessed with drive
Self-starting personality that can work well with limited direction
Excellent written and verbal and communication skills
