Job Description

Position: DRUPS technician (start as soon as possible)

Location: Oahu, HI (Near Wheeler Army Airfield)
Salary: $90-100k depending on experience
Travel: Dedicated to the site with possible 1-2 trips per year, and 1-2 months during first 6 months for training
Shift: 4-8 hrs. 3-5 days per week. Typically, it is M-W-F 4 hrs. each of those days unless there is a maintenance evolution happening. An escort is required while onsite. The schedule would depend around their availability. Weekend or after hours work as required by any emergency call out situation.

Qualifications:
• Two years electrical or technical trade school and two years field service with electrical troubleshooting experience; or five years field service experience in electrical field.
• Additional Mechanical experience a plus
• Strong knowledge of electronics and ability to read blueprints and electronic schematics
• Ability to travel 5-10% on short notice international and domestic
• Ability to lift, push, pull weights in the 20-60 lb. range
• Ability to bend down, stand over, lay down and complete work tasks
• Proficient in the use of mechanical and electric hand tools
• Proficient in the use of measurement and testing tools for mechanical and electrical systems
• Proficient in technical language and engineering terminology
• Proficient in the principles of electronics, physics, hydraulics, and pneumatics
• Proficient in the physical properties of fuels, coolants, lubricants, and oils
• Proficient verbal and written English communication skills
• Good organizational skills
• Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite
• Preferred Experience:
• Large scale UPS systems
• Electric plant operations and troubleshooting
• Replacement of bearings and vibration analysis
• Rigging of weights up to 2 ton
• Report and service letter writing

Responsibilities:
• Service, troubleshoot, repair and overhaul D-UPS systems and their associated electronic and mechanical systems
• Maintain 3 DRUPS units at site
• Lead on-site work, maintain active list of project timelines and prioritize job tasks
• Operate D-UPS systems, including 480v to 13,800v electric plants
• Provide on call 24/7 site support for assistance with alarms failures
• Assist with commissioning of D-UPS systems
• Inspect parts to assure conformance to specification
• Perform field inspections according to maintenance schedules
• Maintain site CMMS data with provided tablet
• Order replacement parts and maintain site spare part inventory
• Source local vendors required for third party activities/assistance
• Provide operating assistance to the customer
• Provide technical assistance to other service personnel
• Travel and assist other site technicians when assistance is required
• Remain technically current
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Analyze technical data
