Position Details:

Pay: $85K to $95K

Position Description: The Director of Purchasing manages all purchasing activities and establishes strategic purchasing processes and procedures. This position is responsible for ensuring the cost effective, efficient, and timely procurement of the necessary goods and services to achieve its mission, goals and objectives, and effectively deliver services.

Position Details:
• Manages the procurement operations including requisition and purchase order processing, solicitation and evaluation of proposals, preparation of specification and bid packages, and contract administration.
• Administer and enforce all aspects of the corporate credit card program.
• Oversee the contracting process and critical components of contract negotiations including review of pricing and terms and conditions.
• Ensure all purchasing activities are carried out efficiently within budget, on an overall high level of ethics, and with supplier/vendor relations devoid of any practices which could be deemed questionable business conduct.
• Assists Departments with procurement process by researching and identifying cost effective solutions, e.g., discount opportunities; purchasing consolidations; resource sharing; lease/purchase analysis; competitive bid analysis and obtaining quotes. Provides ongoing education as needed.
• Select, implement, and manage software used in the procurement process ensuring it creates synergies, improves efficiency, and increases employee productivity.
• Accountable for managing purchasing contracts and working with GPO affiliates to ensure best pricing across the organization.
• Create and monitor a system of controls, procedures and forms for the acquisition and recordation of fixed assets.
• Establish and maintain measurable performance metrics for all levels of procurement activities to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
• Leads a team of multiple direct reports to achieve organizational goals, which include ensuring a cost-effective inventory and procurement process with exceptional service levels.
• Assist in creation and review of annual budget and monthly forecasting.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in business or relate field of studies
• Experience in purchasing, assets software and accounting software
• Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) preferred
• Inventory and purchasing knowledge obtained through formal education or experience is required.
• Proven ability to work creatively, analytically, and independently in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence
• Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands
• Strong computer skills, ideally with experience using Windows-based PC programs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must possess the ability to deal with people in an effective and professional manner
• Ability to identify cost savings initiatives and utilize creative techniques in order to achieve value
• Ability to lead, coach, and mentor others, ensuring timely and appropriate performance management, conflict resolution and high employee engagement
