Job Description

Orion Talent, the nation’s largest military recruiting firm, is currently recruiting transitioning or former military professionals for Site Engineer positions with the largest provider of dredging, land reclamation, and beach nourishment services in the United States.

Interviews for the Site Engineer position will be held virtually and on-site in Norfolk, VA on November 8-9.

Position Details
Location: Ability to live anywhere, Norfolk is a good location
Salary: $67,500 + per diem. In addition, they match 6% on 401k and great benefits.
Schedule: You will work a 2 week on/1 week off rotation.
Travel: Since you will be in a field-oriented company, travel is extensive. The company provides housing, transportation, and a meal per diem while on site. Airfare transportation for your time-off (to and from your home base) is company provided. You will travel in on a Wednesday and out on a Wednesday
Start Date: Some Flexibility here- the next class for training is January 11, starting ahead of this works perfectly well.

Position Description
As a Site Engineer, you will work in an entry-level position on the project management teams. You will be exposed to multiple facets of the company’s dredging projects with responsibilities for hydrographic surveying, dredge engineering, production reporting, safety, and quality control. The experience you will gain in this entry level position will provide training and experience to advance into a variety of potential career tracks within the company, including Project Management, Production Engineering, Estimating, and Mechanical Engineering. Engineering staff is part of a greater team whose goals are to safely and efficiently manage dredging and reclamation efforts. Responsibilities will include:
• Ensure a safe work environment in all operations and tasks.
• Organize and conduct hydrographic surveys and engineering activities at sites.
• Dredge production monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
• Maintain dredge instrumentation and automation.
• Produce dredge quantity reports.
• Quality assurance and control.
• General support of our operations and fellow team members.

Position Requirements
• Company has had success in hiring Electronics backgrounds from the Navy.
• Being at sea is a huge plus, you will be working shipboard for extended hours.
• You will be working on Sonar systems used to ensure dredging is accurate. Sonar experience, GPS knowledge, Radio, and other electronics work well.
• Computer networking is helpful.
