Job Description

Orion Talent is helping a client hire a Drups Technician in Hagerstown, MD.

Position: DRUPS technician (start as soon as possible)

Location: Hagerstown, MD

Salary: $50k-$75k depending on experience

Travel: Dedicated to the site with possible 10% travel to other sites for assistance.

Shift: 8 hours per day. M-F start at 7:30am. Weekend or after hours required if there is an emergency.





Qualifications:



Two years mechanical or technical trade school and two years field service with mechanical or electrical troubleshooting experience; or five years field service experience.
Strong knowledge of electronics and ability to read blueprints and electronic schematics
Ability to travel 5-10% on short notice international and domestic
Ability to lift, push, pull weights in the 20-60 lb. range
Ability to bend down, stand over, lay down and complete work tasks
Proficient in the use of mechanical and electric hand tools
Proficient in the use of measurement and testing tools for mechanical and electrical systems
Proficient in technical language and engineering terminology
Proficient in the principles of electronics, physics, hydraulics, and pneumatics
Proficient in the physical properties of fuels, coolants, lubricants, and oils
Proficient verbal and written English communication skills
Good organizational skills
Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite
Preferred Experience:
Large scale UPS systems
Electric plant operations and troubleshooting
Replacement of bearings and vibration analysis
Rigging of weights up to 2 ton
Report and service letter writing




Responsibilities:





Service, troubleshoot, repair and overhaul D-UPS systems and their associated electronic and mechanical systems
Lead on-site work, maintain active list of project timelines and prioritize job tasks
Operate D-UPS systems, including 480v to 13,800v electric plants
Provide on call 24/7 site support for assistance with alarms failures


Assist with commissioning of D-UPS systems
Inspect parts to assure conformance to specification
Perform field inspections according to maintenance schedules
Maintain site CMMS data with provided tablet
Order replacement parts and maintain site spare part inventory
Source local vendors required for third party activities/assistance
Provide operating assistance to the customer
Provide technical assistance to other service personnel
Travel and assist other site technicians when assistance is required
Remain technically current
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Analyze technical data
