As a Maintenance Technician you will assist in the achievement of meeting plant safety, quality, service, and efficiency goals. It will be your responsibility to complete all maintenance functions including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment, while promoting and practicing safety at all-times, and contributing to the continuous improvement of plant equipment by finding ways to eliminate unscheduled downtime and improve efficiency. You’ll also be tasked with providing electrical and instrumentation support to the plant by testing, troubleshooting, and repairing all types of electronic equipment. These include PLC based machine controls, AC/DC motors and drives, sensors, computer controls, HMI’s, and plant power systems.

Shift: 7a – 7p or 7p – 7a (2-2-3 Dupont schedule)

Openings: 4 – Manager can put two new people on first shift and two on off-shift.

Position Description:
You will be responsible for maintaining the mechanical systems and components for all production and facilities equipment on the production plant floor. You will work as part of a team to ensure that all preventative and corrective maintenance is performed in a timely manner. This position requires extensive mechanical (pneumatic, hydraulic, electro-mechanical, etc) knowledge to repair the wide variety of equipment in the plant, and great electrical aptitude as well. This job also involves working with engineers and other employees to develop new processes to make the facility more efficient. This position requires that you work in a steel plant environment, which can be hot in the summer and cold in winter.
Preferred qualifications and expectations for Mechanical Maintenance candidates are:
• Sincere commitment to the safety of self and team, to the environment, and continuous development of self and others
• Sound analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Solid theoretical knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic principles
• Sound theoretical and practical understanding of gearboxes, pneumatic and hydraulic motors and components.

This client is the Crankshaft Forging Group for a multinational conglomerate and global producer of steel and industrial equipment for virtually every industry imaginable. At their plant in Danville, IL they develop and produce forged and ready-to-install machined components for the automotive and non-automotive industries.

As an Electrical / Electronics Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing plant equipment with regards to electrical systems (gear boxes, electrical panels, etc) and electronic components (controls, feedback loops, robotics, calibration, etc). The ideal candidate must be able to work independently as well as with a team and must have previous experience troubleshooting 480V, 3-phase electrical systems, ideally in an industrial environment, and must have on the experience with PLCs / Ladder Logic (not just classroom training).

Location: Danville, IL

Shift Work: The plant works several different shift schedules, depending on the product line. In these roles you will work either:
• 2nd or 3rd shift (8-hrs, mon-Fri), or
• 2-2-3 Night-shift schedule (6p to 6a); in this schedule you are on Su-Mo, off Tu-We, on Thu-Sa, then the opposite schedule the following week (giving you 7 full days off every two weeks).

Salary: Target base rate ~$26/hr to $30/hr + $1/hr shift premium + eligibility for quarterly bonuses up to $1100 each quarter = 1st year W2 ~$65K - $80K

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Verify and maintain good housekeeping procedures to ensure a safe and clean work environment.
Maintain all internal and external facilities and equipment for proper operations and safety.
Respond to requests, which are affecting the production operation.
Maintain and purchase adequate inventory of required spare parts, materials, and equipment for preventative and corrective maintenance purposes.
Implement all maintenance projects and machinery installations as assigned by Management.
Obtain and maintain complete, proper and up-to-date documentation applicable to machine and facility service, maintenance and preventative maintenance.
Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, and by listening for problems.
Remove defective parts by dismantling devices.
Provide mechanical maintenance by answering questions upon request.
Support and adhere to required, documented and defined procedures and work instructions including, but not limited to: food safety programs, OSHA regulations and PPE as designated.
Perform all other duties as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Knowledge of PLC logic.
Able to read schematics and blueprints.
Capable and knowledgeable in 480v, 240v and transformed 24v power.
Understand electrical panel and drive components.
A/C and D/C motor knowledge.
Fabricate and fix mechanical parts
