Position Description
As a Vacuum Pump Technician, you will be responsible for disassembly, reassembly, and inspecting a variety of vacuum pumps. You will regularly perform repair and rebuild along with testing to meet company quality standards. Responsibilities will include:
• Disassemble, decontaminate, clean, and inspect vacuum pumps for repair.
• Perform repair/rebuild of pumps using manufacturer specifications to ensure proper operation.
• Test equipment to meet quality control requirements.
• Record all testing results

Position Requirements
• Ideal fit for this role is a military veteran with mechanical and maintenance experience. If you have performed preventative and corrective maintenance with systems and understand how to troubleshoot you are the ideal candidate for this role.

• One (1) year in a mechanic or related role required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to work with hand and power tools.

The Field Service Technician will provide professional field service technical support on all products in the assigned territory. This position is responsible for responding to emergency calls and scheduling preventive maintenance visits to meet service agreement obligations, while focusing on quality service and customer satisfaction. The position is also expected to help support the renewal of service contracts and assist with identifying new service contract opportunities to grow the service business in the territory. Excellent technical and communication skills are needed to positively interact with customers and company personnel. This position is required to independently manage work schedules and possess basic business acumen to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities:
• Provide on-site and telephone technical service support for the installation, inspection, repair and preventative maintenance of products for customers within their territory.
• Maintain positive, professional communication with customers, regional team members and the Technical Support group.
• Document all activities in accordance with Service policies and procedures.
• Provide technical assistance to the Field Sales team.
• Maintain all service contracts in accordance with service policies and procedures. This includes, assisting with identifying potential service contract customers.
• Protect company assets and maintain loaner and test equipment, spare parts inventory, and other company equipment and supplies in good condition and working order.
• Make decisions based on policies and procedures, and discuss and refer unresolved customer service issues to the respective Service Regional Manager.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures and comply with all safety and regulatory requirements.
• Build quality into all aspects of work.

Required Skills and Abilities:
• Technically proficient in using schematics, systems diagrams and repair/replacement procedures to troubleshoot, repair and calibrate of assigned products in the territory.
• Effective mechanical and electro-mechanical skills such as in hydraulics, pneumatics, motors etc.
• Well-organized, able to carry out tasks with minimum supervision.
• Able to present service solutions that meet customer needs.
• Exhibit high level of critical thinking ability.
• Customer-oriented and strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic to intermediate Microsoft skills in Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Must have a valid drivers’ license.
• The position requires travel of approximately 40% to 75%

Experience and Education Requirements:
• Associate of Science Degree in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical, Biomedical Engineering and/or technical discipline; or equivalent military training and experience with emphasis in electronics technology.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a field service role in medical devices, technical repair or related technical field.

The Field Technical Support Engineer is a visible and key customer facing role; responsible to provide individual contribution and Customer Support enabling “Best in Class” post-sale instrumentation support within assigned region for BNSM, manufacturer of the world's leading Metrology tools. Field Technical support activity includes: installation, instrument diagnostics/fix, and on-going support. Individual must be customer focused, results-oriented, effective communicator, collaborative, and have strong technical background to enable our customers to maintain their instrument at peak performance and maximize productivity for their intended use case.

• Provide “Best in Class” post-sale support and drive continuous improvement of the BNSM customer experience for assigned region.
• Execute to current process, procedures and controls, while identifying and recommending improvement opportunities.
• High level of technical understanding and system level perspective. Experience with Semi Metrology techniques including hands-on work.

Essential Functions:
• HW and Application Troubleshooting capabilities.
• System level understand and data analysis and processing capabilities.
• Handle advanced maintenance and tool repair.
• Independency in problem solving and in prioritization and execution of job.
• Good judgment on escalation necessity.
• Determination and ability to work long hours when necessary including weekend support if escalated.

Requirements:
• 35% travel both domestically and internationally on short notice
• Able to work in Government sites, cleanroom, production floor, & laboratory environments
• Must have & maintain valid driver’s license

Education and Experience:
Minimum of bachelor degree in an engineering field from accredited university or college with multiple years in a technical role that demonstrates fulfillment of the above denoted knowledge, skills, and abilities. Typically this encompasses 5 years technical experience coupled with demonstrated leadership and skill progression. Electrical Engineering background preferred.
