The Dallas Business Journal recently interviewed Brian Henry, Orion's Senior Vice President of Operations at the Dallas Distinguished Candidate Conference.

Since 1991, Orion's Hiring Conferences have connected tens of thousands of transitioning military officers with companies and organizations looking for leaders.
The event in Dallas attracted about 100 top-tier military candidates and approximately 50 companies, including Denton-based Links Construction, as well as Lutron, Samsung Austin Semiconductor, and Stryker. “Most companies can teach people specific skills,” Henry said. “They want that decision making, that initiative, that drive.”
At 4.5 percent, the veteran unemployment rate remains below the national average, thanks to government programs and efforts by corporate America to hire veterans, Henry, a former US Marine Corps Officer, said. "While the climate for veteran hiring is very positive, both employers and service members still face challenges."
In 2016, companies attending Orion’s conferences nationwide hired nearly 600 military officers for roles in engineering, sales, technology, manufacturing, leadership development, operations management and other areas, with about half of the companies making multiple hires.
